This page will contain a series of articles focusing on composing and song-writing. Personally, I will be writing some articles on the productive use of music theory in composing/song-writing. It is unfortunate that so many musicians view music theory with a certain degree of suspician, even fear. Perhaps these articles can play a part in breaking down such misconceptions. Music theory wasn't written for the hell of it! Our predecessors, the great composers of centuries gone by, observed and noted powerful phenomena relating to music. I view music theory not as a code of rules and regulations, but rather as acute observation by these wonderfully talented musicians. Familarising ourselves in some of this theory is like tapping into an enormous wealth of knowledge that can only benefit us, not harm us. Perhaps you have something you would like to share with others. Possibly it is concerning the physical use of the Korg X3 workstation.
